When the management at the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria in downtown Sacramento decided they weren’t happy with their current website, they asked Bernal Web Services to rework everything.
This layout started, like most, by making the existing logo a central part of the design. The site had to represent the sense of style and decadence of the venue itself without overwhelming the user. An attractive green was picked to complement the purple already present in the logo, and portions of that logo were used to accent the site in other areas. Images of the venue and the types of events that take place there were used in the main header to serve as an immediate indication of the identity and function of the venue. The site navigation was given prominent placement to allow users to find information quickly and easily, while at the same time contributing to the style and feel of each page. The navigation was also placed in the footer to serve as both a convenient way to get to the next page after reading through the current page and give the page a sense of completion by referencing colors used at the top.
